Sports and Music – A Big No-No

There are reasons that sports and music don’t mix often in our pop culture. I think the main thing is if you are good enough to be a pro-athlete you probably can’t sing and vice versa. The only person who could really do it was Shaq, I have a friend who still knows the Shaq Fu album word for word.

I bring this up because we actually had a good moment recently with Jerry Stackhouse doing an admirable job with the National Anthem before the Bucks playoff game:

And to balance the scales here is Scott Stapp’s horrible song for the Florida Marlins, also came out recently (please keep this out of ear’s reach of children – they may die):

That Would Have Been A Hole-In-One for John Daly

looking to release my album by Christmas---should be a great one too!

I forgot that John Daly is a semi-serious musician… and I thought, for one glorious moment, he was putting out a Christmas album.  That would have made my year.

I’ve never heard John Daly’s music.  I likely never will.  But I imaginehis Christmas album would sound just like Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Christmas Time Again”.  (Note: I have never heard that album either)
